Alpha v2 Launched - A Major System Update

As we continue to grow and build our system we will be launching a few major updates. Today, the first of those major updates shipped out in Alpha v2. Let's talk about why that's such a big deal and what changes were made between the first iteration and this one.

Total Design Overhaul:

We took the old design and threw it in the trash. The first iteration of the app was entirely focused on just getting a working model of a lost and found system with exactly zero thought given to the design, user interface or user experience. We just wanted something that worked nicely and wasn't overly complicated to use. With Alpha v2 we put some real thought into redesigning every aspect. While we haven't reached the design caliber that we expect to reach for the final product, we believe that Alpha v2 provides a much cleaner looking system with more easy to use features at your fingertips.

Introducing the AIIRS Beacon - Our Image Recognition AI System:

Would we even truly be a software company in 2024 if we didn't find some way to utilize AI in our systems!? The answer is no, no we wouldn't. And we want to be a software company so we developed our own AI Image Recognition System, lovingly referred to as AIIRS. This system will take a photo you snap of the disc, analyze whatever is written on it, and pre-fill it into the disc entry form. Whether it's the printed company logo, or a handwritten phone number, our detection system will pull it in and place it in the right area. We are still in v2 of our alpha though so the system is still learning and as more discs are added it will only get better and better.

Time and Cost Efficiency:

By introducing the AIIRS Beacon, as well as streamlining where you add discs, we've been able to save courses even more time and money. Now you just have to snag a picture of the disc and verify some information and the process takes the rest for you. Our fully automated claim system is coming in the next update which will, once again, decrease the time and cost involved.

Backed by Kinde - User Management:

We did away with single user authentication between courses and instead have partnered with Kinde on our user management and authentication systems. We believe 1000% in keeping our user data secure and the best way to do that was to partner with a company like Kinde to handle user management and billing for us. You can rest easy knowing that whatever information you or your players enter is protected by layers and layers of security and encryption.

Conclusion:

While are are still pretty far from launching a finalized, polished version of DRN and our Rescue Beacons, we believe that Alpha v2 is leading us in the right direction. Your course has all the security and functionality it needs, while being easy to use and understand.
